The first service in the Ministry of Education and Culture , with  exclusive competence in culture was created in 1965 and was named Education Services , which was then upgraded and renamed in 1992 to the Department of Cultural Services.

Cyprus Cuisine

The Cypriot cuisine is very similar to the Greek cuisine, however it has been affected by its many conquerors over the years.  The island’s modern gastronomic culture shows that is has been influenced by flavours of the Middle East, the Mediterranean and East Europe. The cuisine has also been affected by the British conquerors, who occupied Cyprus until 1960.

The island is geographically positioned at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, making it a strategic location historically and culturally.
