Pombes are a Cypriot sweet similar to loukoumades with the difference that the dough used for pombes includes potato.

Other ingredients used are semolina, flour, oil, water, mastic and yeast.

Once the dough is ready it is placed into a pastry bag with a star nozzle in order to get the required shape.

The dough is pushed from the pastry bag into the hot oil and cut into the size preferred, which is about 15 centimetres or less.

Once ready the syrup is added on top.
