Faros in Greek means lighthouse, which is also how the beach was given its name. Faros beach is a sandy beach located to the west of Paphos with a magnificent view of the sea.
Access to the beach is easy by car, bus, bike, motorbike and there are signs to direct you. It is a sandy beach with high quality water due to the many tests which are carried out. There are many facilities there such as changing rooms, sunbeds, and umbrellas for rent from the 15th of April until the 31st of October.
In addition, there is a lifeguard on duty from 11 am to 5.30pm. Apart from these there is also a beach volley ball court and a beach bar-restaurant. There is plenty of accommodation at a close distance to the beach. Behind the beach there is a lighthouse upon a hill. As lighthouses are built to prevent ships from crashing onto the rocks, this beach is very rocky.
