The Zenobia shipwreck in the Larnaca district, is considered to be one of the ten best shipwrecks in the world and the most emblematic in the Mediterranean.

The Zenobia ship was a Swedish Ferry of 172 metres, and was carrying 108 trucks as well as military equipment, and one million eggs which are still intact under water.  It was given the name “Titanic of the Mediterranean” as the ship sunk on the 7th of June 1980 during its maiden voyage outside the Larnaca Port.

At the moment it is shipwrecked on a sand bed and rocks. The shipwreck has a variety of sea life, with packs of fish including groupers, mackerels, royal mackerel as well as moray eels, stingrays, turtles and octopuses.

The ship and part of the cargo are intact, making it exciting for exploration. The shipwreck is visited by about 1000.000 thousand divers per year.
