The Apostolou Varnava Church is located in the Deryneia Village in the Ammochostos district.

The construction of the church took place due to the need to cover the refugee community that was created after the Turkish occupation in 1974.

The temple was created with the assistance of the government and was dedicated to the founder and protector of the Church of Cyprus, Apostolo Varnava.

The church is made up of a prefabricated construction with a steel frame.

During February 1988, the temple was destroyed by a storm that hit the area and it was restored with modern materials.

The new church was also dedicated to Apostolos Varnavas. In 2007 the temple was extended in order to cover the resident needs.

The Priest at the temple is Father Eleftherios Eleftheriou, a refugee from the occupied community of Acheritou.

The village celebrates the saint Apostolos Varnavas on the 11th of June, with a great festival and various events.
