Palia Ilektriki is an old powerhouse which has been transformed into a Cultural Centre by the Paphos Municipality.  The prolonged and noticeable lack of a modern cultural centre, along with the creation of the Municipal Art Gallery in 2006, led to the creation of the renovation of Palia Ilektriki. The idea was to create an affordable and operational project, which would refresh and support various areas of cultural activity and development, in Paphos.

The aim and ambition of the Municipality is for the Palia Ilektriki Cultural Centre to become a benchmark for a new era in the cultural and social events of Paphos. Debates, seminars, presentations, art exhibitions, recitals and small concerts are examples of the action that can develop in this area, providing the cultural and social life of Paphos with energy and dynamism.
