The Agios Dimitrios Church is situated in the Paralimni area of the Ammochostos district. The church began being built in 1993 and was completed in 1996.

The Agios Dimitrios Church is dedicated to three saints: Agio Dimitrio, Agio Dimitriano and Agio Fanourio. It is made up of three aisles and it has a basilica architecture with a dome.

The interior of the church is filled with murals, to the point which questions if one is in the sky or on earth. The mural at on the central dome is especially impressive. The miraculous icon of Panagia Esfagmeni is a treasure and an important heirloom for the church of Agiou Dimitriou. According to the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi, the Virgin Mary had spoken to him and he transferred the icon to the Church of Agiou Dimitriou in Vatopedi. While the original icon is at the church of Agiou Dimitriou in Vatopedi , the replica is siteated at the church of Agiou Dimitriou in Paralimni.
