The Agia Anna Church is situated in the centre of Paralimni in the Ammochostos district. The original church was smaller in dimension and was dated to the 13th century. To the residents it is known with the name Agia Anna which was given to it when it was enlarged to the size it is today.

The original church was built with stones found in the surrounding area, and its interior was filled with murals which have now been destroyed. The two or three murals which can be seen today are those of Archangel Michael on the north wall, of Jesus and the Ierarhwn on the east. Instead of icons the church is decorated with coloured plates placed in shapes.

The arch is semi-circular and there are four windows which give light to the interior of the church. It has a wooden carved iconostasis dated to the 17th century. The two icons of Christ and the Virgin Mary also belong to the 17th century. The twelve Apostles which also decorate the iconostasis are of an earlier time.

When the residents could no longer all fit in it then the necessity for an extension occurred. A south wing was added towards the west side. The particular church is also a small museum as it houses important church relics such as books, icons and other items.
