Green Valley waterfalls was used from the ancient times, as shepherds used to water their herds of goats and flocks of sheep at this pool.

During recent centuries, before the main water system was installed in Cyprus, the local village women came here to wash their clothes. Also they collected water in pails which they carryied on their shoulders in order to bring water to their home. In 1995, at the start of the EOKA campaign for independence, British Army camp personnel which was based near the area, came to the waterfalls to shower.

At the Polemidia roundabout in Limassol (it is the 2nd coming from Paphos and the 5th coming from Larnaca), take the B8 sign-posted exit to ‘Troodos.

Green Valley is a typical rural tavern with a difference: it has waterfalls, half kilometer walking distance the entrance of which is attached to the tavern and they are perhaps the highest on the island.

The path down to the waterfalls has been cleverly sculptured and there is lots of botanical information on the various trees and shrubs. The stream down to the falls is stocked with fish and gives home to ducks and geese. You can enjoy a drink at the bottom of the falls or a meal, including English dishes, in the main tavern afterwards. There is also a kiosk where you can buy souvenirs and local products. You can also enjoy watching the friendly peacocks which are wondering in the path.
