The Malloura Archaeological Site is located in the village of Athienou in the Larnaca district. The archaeological excavations have been conducted since 1990 in the location of Malloura which is situated about 6 kilometres southwest of the village of Athienou.

The excavations have been managed by an American team under the guidance of Dr. Michali Toumazou an archaeology professor at the University of Davidson in North Carolina of America. The work of the expedition forms an interdisciplinary program that focuses on the archaeological position of Athienou – Malloura and the surrounding valley in the southcentral part of Cyprus.

The Archaeological programme of Athienou is financed by the Davidson University of North Carolina, the National Science Foundation of America, the Foundation of Dumbarton Oaks and is supported by the Municipality of Athienou.
