The House of Orpheus, set within the archaeological treasure trove of the Paphos Archaeological Park in  Paphos, stands as a beautiful epitome of Roman artistry and architecture. It gets its name from the stunning mosaics of Orpheus charming animals with his lyre.

Boasting large, sprawling rooms and courtyards, the house offers a glimpse into the luxuriant Roman domestic life. Apart from the mosaic of Orpheus, depictions of Amazon warriors and other mythical themes adorn this house. Each of these structures in Paphos, with their historic mosaics and architectural features, ensures that visitors are transported back to the grandeur of Roman times, immersing them in tales of gods, heroes, and daily Roman life.

As the House of Orpheus , it is a luxury building which belongs to the Hellenistic type of house. It is dated to the end of the 2nd –beginning of the 3rd century A.D. It is also decorated with important mosaic floors. The greatest mosaic shows an excellent quality display of Orpheus amongst the animals. It is an important fact that this mosaic has an inscription with the name of the artist.

Other mosaics of the same house show Hercules and the Nemea lion along with an Amazonian and a horse.
