Mackenzie Beach is located about 15 minutes from Pervolia  in the city of  Larnaca. More specifically it is close to the Larnaca Airport , therefore you can see the planes taking off and landing while you swim.

The Mackenzie beach (also called Makenzy) Beach is considered to be one of the most favourite beaches for local Larnaca families to relax and enjoy the Cyprus sunshine. The beach took its name after a Scotsman who set up a restaurant/bar just after World War II. When the residents wanted to go to the particular beach they would say “Let’s go to McKenzie” and the name remained over the years. The beach has very clean and grey sand stretching for almost one kilometer as well as shallow waters.

The waters in Mackenzie Beach are usually calm thanks to its sheltered position and you can walk in the sea for almost 50 metres and still only be waist deep in water. Larnaka Municipality keeps clean the beach and the water quality is regularly monitored, and the beach has Blue Flag status. Kids will enjoy the beach as the sand is particularly good for building sand-castles, or drawing in the sand. Behind the beach you can find a lot of local restaurants, including fish tavernas as well as others.

There are many facilities at the beach such as sunbeds and umbrellas. There are water sports available at the beach such as jet skis, speed boats, water skiing and windsurfing. There is also diving available due to the Zenobia shipwreck which is in the area.
