Agios Vasilios is a community in the occupied part of the Nicosia district and it is located 18 kilometres west of Nicosia and 17 kilometres east of the city of Morphou in the central west valley of Cyprus at an altitude of 160 metres.

In 1960, 492 Greeks and 117 Turks lived in this community. At the community borders there is a church of Agiou Vasiliou as well as the chapels of Agia Marina and Agiou Trifona. At the Greek school which operated before the Turkish invasion during the year 1973-74 there were 64 students.

During the Turkish invasion, the community was taken over by the Turkish army, resulting in the deporting of all Greek residents.
